What you should know about ordering tile

Since it seems to be tile and stone week here at Kitchen Sync Central, I thought I’d pass along something I’m working on now, which is:

Not all tile is sold by the piece or foot. Some only is available per carton, which means you’ll have to allow extra for the next box or carton size.

This is why a final tile order may be different than your original estimate, so it can be helpful to check first, which leads me to a bonus tip:

Some tile also has an additional shipping charge for specialty or larger orders. Make sure you check again with the tile company (especially with the rising gas prices) and make an allowance into your estimate.

Sure, some of you in urban areas don’t need to worry about freight, but it doesn't hurt to check, right?

And now you know.

  1. Exactly, and good point, Cyra. A custom tile studio gives us both more leeway and options!

  2. Or you could order with us & order as many tile as you need and only pay actual shipping costs!
We don’t believe in a minimum order quantity. But of course, we aren’t a manufacturing tile factory so it is a different philosophy for our studio.
